OPAL’s Housekeeping Team is one of our community’s most spontaneous and fun groups.
The housekeeping team is always friendly and outgoing, interacting with each resident as they go about their day.
Heading up the team is Doma, our Housekeeping Manager. With more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry and a passion for service excellence, Doma is the best person to lead and inspire her team and all of us at OPAL. One of the things this dedicated employee loves most about working at OPAL is building connections with residents. The OPAL community is like a family for Doma.
When Doma first joined Element Lifestyle Retirement Inc in 2018, the OPAL by element flagship residence was still under construction. At the time, she knew that it would be a big challenge to build the housekeeping department, but she was glad she was given the opportunity. Now, three years later, Doma couldn’t be happier with the excellent learning experience and career development that working at OPAL has turned out to be. She has accomplished her goal of establishing an efficient and dedicated housekeeping department from ground zero.
Doma is meticulous about maintaining a high standard of cleanliness, daily between 7 am to 10 pm. Our housekeeping team cleans high-touch points like elevators, railings, door handles, and shared washrooms to ensure cleanliness and safety. Doma and her team take care of our residence with heart and diligence. Watching OPAL develop from a mere construction site into an award-winning lifestyle residence makes her beam with pride.
“I feel fulfilled and rewarded when I receive residents’ positive feedback and their satisfaction with OPAL by element’s housekeeping services,” says Doma.
Just as Doma nurtures her team, she also nurtures our vegetables and flowers. Her green thumbs keep our rooftop vegetable garden healthy and abundant. Zucchinis, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, onions, chives, parsley, blueberries, and strawberries are just a few examples of what’s thriving at OPAL during spring and summer. As Doma tends our gardens, she enjoys spending time with our residents and their families, listening to their life stories. After all, gardening is an excellent opportunity for people to connect in a meaningful way.
Everyone in the OPAL community cares about each other, and so our residents, visitors, and staff are like family.
