Seniors Christmas Dinner
Open to adults over 50, the Seniors Christmas Dinner at Barclay Manor serves up a feast with all the trimmings. Live music and fantastic prizes brighten up the festivities. Wear your best holiday togs and get a picture taken. It will be printed as a souvenir for you to take home.
Christmas Lights Tour
It doesn’t get more festive than this! The Christmas Lights Tour for older adults departs from the Silver Harbour Seniors Activity Center on December 17 for a view of the lights at Park and Tilford Gardens before continuing downtown and beyond.
Christmas crafts are a holiday must, so why not make your own with Craft Time at the Seniors Centre Society, which is open to adults 55 years or older? Make paper stars, colourful gift tags, and pine cone ornaments, among other beautiful items using the supplies provided and under the guidance of an instructor. The event takes place every Friday at 10am.
Whistlers Original Artisan Market Tour
Maybe you’re not the craftiest people at 55-plus but you still like beautiful things to decorate your home or give to others. At Whistler’s Original Artisan market you’ll find over 100 artisans presenting original, hand-made and high-quality pieces. Departing on November 24 at 9 a.m. from the Seniors’ Activity Centre in West Vancouver, the holiday tour takes you there and back, and gives you three hours of free time in Whistler to hunt for treasures.
Christmas in the Country
If you’re 55 and older, you can take a break from city life by spending a fun-filled day in the Langley Countryside. You’ll meet at the False Creek Community Centre Lobby before 8:15 am for a Dec. 6 trip to Potters: The Christmas Store and then head for the Krause Berry Farms Christmas Market for shopping and lunch. You’ll then end the day at the Little White House. All admissions and lunch are included. Register for this one now because it fills up fast!
