How to Make the Best of Life During A Pandemic

One of the hardest parts of living through the COVID-19 pandemic has been the long stretches of social isolation that have been forced upon us.

When you choose to live at OPAL by element, being part of a tight-knit community means that you are not alone. Our services and support reduce your need to be exposed while our precautionary measures and protocols keep you safe as you live life to the fullest, connecting with neighbours during recreation activities and meals.

Below are three tips for making the most out of a pandemic lifestyle.

1. Be a part of a healthy, supportive community

Being a part of the OPAL community is a great opportunity to live your best life, even during a pandemic. This is where we ensure that your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being are our priority. Our dedicated and passionate team is here for you.

As an OPAL resident, you’ll have all of your meals prepared for you by our talented culinary team if you wish, or you can take advantage of our 24-hour concierge services to help you get what you need to make meals in the comfort of your own kitchen. You’ll have access to housekeeping services and on-site maintenance teams, as well as a recreation team and plenty of amenity space for you and other members of the community to meet up and enjoy life together with peace of mind.

2. Stay social and connected

Taking care of your mental health is always important, but it’s even more important when you’re living in a pandemic. It can be all too easy to withdraw from friends and family, especially if you’re forced to go long stretches of time without in-person visits.

Video chats and telephone calls can only go so far, which is why being part of an active and vibrant community gives you the opportunity to stay social and connected in a safe environment.

Everyone in the residence is part of your “community bubble,” so you can set up coffee dates and activities while following safety protocols or participate in the scheduled activities thoughtfully organized by our Recreation Team.

3. Take your safety seriously

Everyone at OPAL takes health and safety seriously. Staff and residents alike understand that safety protocols are just as much about keeping neighbours healthy as they are about keeping ourselves safe. Our community follows all of the health guidelines and recommendations from the ministry at all times, especially when participating in recreational activities and organized events.

Stay positive and make the best out of life with OPAL

We’ll be thrilled when life can return back to normal again but until then, we plan to make the most out of our time, and we hope that you do too. Let’s be positive, wise and considerate!
