5 Intergenerational Activities to Add to Your Spring 2019 “Bucket List” in Vancouver

  1. Science World

TELUS World of Science is absolutely packed with interesting and exciting exhibits that kids and adults can both learn a lot from. Science World features a constantly rotating set of exhibits as well as permanent displays and activities that explore all aspects of science.

This year, you can also take part in their Spring Lab series, which has interactive drop-in activities and live science shows.

  1. Granville Island Water Park

The water park on Granville Island is a short jaunt from Vancouver, but visiting the largest free water park in North America should definitely make your bucket list this year. The park is close to a public market that’s perfect for grabbing a bite to eat, and you can even opt to take a short miniature ferry ride to the island for added fun.

  1. H.R. MacMillan Space Centre

Stargazing in the MacMillan Space Centre observatory is an unforgettable experience that both you and your grandchildren will love. The Space Centre also has a Cosmic Courtyard with hands-on activities and exhibits, and there are regularly scheduled planetarium shows that will transport you into the inky depths of the universe.

  1. Whale Watching Safari

Going on a whale watching excursion is another experience that will leave you and the kids with memories of a lifetime. There are a few different companies that offer these tours, and participants have a good chance of seeing killer whales, dolphins, grey whales, bald eagles, sea lions and other creatures during the tour.

This is a great daytime activity that will also leave you with plenty of time to explore Granville Island’s Kids Market or model train museum.

  1. Stanley Park Day Trip

Stanley Park is home to several attractions that make for an unforgettable experience for you and your grandkids. You can visit the Vancouver Aquarium, explore the gardens, stroll the seawall and play in the water park.

You can also visit the miniature train or take a bike ride along one of the many beautiful paths that span the park. If you decide to walk the seawall, there are restaurants, museums and plenty of places to take pictures and admire the scenery.

Make 2019 Memorable

The five activities listed above are all excellent additions to your bucket list, and they’re all perfect opportunities to spend time with the younger members of your family as well.
